EU Data Transfers

For customers from EU countries, our Services require collection of your application username, necessitating data flows between the European Union (EU) and the United States (US). To ensure adequate protection of personal data when transferred outside the EU, such transfers must be conducted under legal mechanisms described in the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and the General Data Protection Regulation effective from May 25, 2018. These mechanisms, as described in FAQs by EU data protection authorities, include contractual commitments between companies governing the transfer of personal data, binding them to protect the privacy and security of the data. Therefore, we employ standard contractual clauses to ensure lawful data flows necessary for providing, maintaining, and developing our Services.

On July 12, 2016, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission adopted the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield as a mechanism allowing for the transfer of personal data from the EU to the US, replacing the EU-U.S. Safe Harbor. A similar mechanism known as the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield became effective on April 12, 2017, allowing for data transfers from Switzerland to the US.

Note: The data centers where we store our customer information are currently located in the US and China.

We will take reasonable precautions and follow best industry practices to protect your personal information, ensuring it is not improperly lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
